I sometimes pass on the right, and I occasionally feel like I am committing a social sin when I do so. But then, I am reminded that the "don't pass on the right" principle only works in conjunction with its partner: "left lane for passing only" (or, better: "slower traffic keep right"). If a driver sits in the left lane and slows down the traffic behind him/her, then a right-lane pass seems both warranted and justified.
We need to return to the olden days. Bring back smoking at your desk and making cigs 50 cents a pack. Make men the primary breadwinner and woman in charge of the household again. Reinstitute the 2-martini lunch. Drop that gym membership!
Scoundrels have always gravitated toward politics, but there was a time when having a Nazi tattoo or a drunk-driving conviction would doom a guy’s chances.

Who holds the nation's highest office who has been convicted in a civil proceeding of sexual assault, has been credibly accused of rape, has had his firm convicted of fraud, has referred to an entire ethnicity as "rapists" (projection, perhaps?), has enriched himself to the tune of $3 billion in a year and a half of office, etc. etc. Oh yes, and who has the support of groups that actually identify as Nazi's. Incidentally, W's drunk driving conviction did not disqualify him from office (and in my opinion should not have--but Jeb should have been president rather than incurious George).
Trump, of course. Hitler killed 40 million or so and destroyed a continent. But remember, there is a fascination with odious regimes once they no longer exist--Nazi Germany, of course, but also Stalinist Russia and Mao's China. Trump is merely doing everything wrong and damaging (and maybe destroying) American democracy. Terrible, of course, but not anywhere near the magnitude of Hitler's crimes.
